Gina found what she was looking for in yoga in 1999, and has
been studying, practicing and teaching ever since. She
received her first certification through Atlanta Yoga
Fellowship/Peachtree Yoga Center in 2000 with her first
teachers, Graham Fowler and Ursula Nix.
The experience that rocked her world and blew her heart
wide open was her first Anusara Yoga® workshop with John
Friend in 2001. Being in the presence of the bright Shakti of
this powerful and joyful teacher gave her an inexplicable and
unforgettable “high” that she will forever continue to seek
and find. The most memorable moment of that auspicious
weekend was the demonstration of Vasisthasana by John’s
assistants, Mitchel Bleier and Sianna Sherman. Gina got such a
deep hit in her heart on their embodiment of freedom, the
mastery and Shri that shone through the offering of that wild
pose, that instantly the longing to know such ecstatic freedom
became the driving force behind her practice. Gina dove into
the practice of Anusara Yoga devotedly from that time on,
knowing she would one day become an Anusara Yoga
teacher. In June of 2006, in the poignant moment of the
Summer Solstice and a glowing full moon, she earned her
Anusara Yoga certification. Fully engaged in the cosmic
dance, Gina’s ecstatic practice continues to evolve and
deepen and reflects a celebration of the heart. Forever a
seeker and a student, Gina continues to study regularly with
John and other senior certified Anusara Yoga teachers –
notably Doug Keller, Mitchel Bleier, Sianna Sherman and
Desiree Rumbaugh. She has logged hundreds of hours of
Anusara Yoga studies.

of the practice has led her to be an inspiring and lovingly exigent teacher. In just one class her students feel new
places of power and opening in their bodies and hearts from her detailed and accessible instruction. A playful and
bright double-Leo with a watery and nurturing Cancer moon, a luminous presence shines through Gina along with a
compassionate sensitivity and connection to the pulsing cycles of Nature. Dedicated to the first Universal Principle of
Anusara Yoga – to be open to all possibilities and to say yes to Shakti’s wild ride – her classes are often challenging,
with a flow of poses skillfully sequenced to make the challenge both playful and accessible, inviting her students to
realize their own potential. Gina is fascinated by and loves to work with the therapeutic application of the Anusara
Yoga Universal Principles of Alignment™, and allows her to work skillfully with student’s injuries and physical and
mental blockages, both in class and in intensive private sessions. She knows from her own growth that our limitations
are the gateway to freedom. The shift that unfolds in the exploration of new possibilities invites the revelation of
Knowing and Delight found in everyone’s heart.
When not on the mat, Gina practices the yoga of gardening, raising her beloved son, Daniel, and living consciously
and connected to nature in the urban life of Atlanta. She also serves the worldwide Anusara Yoga community
through her work with the Anusara® office as an administrative assistant. A world traveler in years past, she holds a
degree in Romance Languages. Mostly content at home, in the garden and at the yoga studio, Gina is also known to
occasionally dance the night away when the shakti so inspires.
