Welcome to my website!
When I was certified to teach Anusara® yoga in 2006 I wanted to create a website not just to promote
myself and my teaching, but to be a hub for the growth of Anusara yoga in Atlanta and in the
Southeast. I wanted to support the community and celebrate the elegance and power of this school of
hatha yoga through its practice.
I came up with the idea of Yoga5 as a creative name to encapsulate Anusara yoga’s practice and
Tantric philosophy. Read more about the meaning of Yoga5 here.
Anusara yoga is both supremely rich philosophically and empowering practically. I am enchanted by the
practice – through the Universal Principles of Alignment you are not just working out the technique of
Downward-Facing Dog Pose, but aligning with and expanding your experience of your truest self more
and more fully. And while we can endlessly explore the most esoteric and refined philosophical ideas in
Anusara yoga – what really matters is the power of this practice to transform our bodies, expand
our minds and opens us to live more fully and to connect with each other in and from our hearts.
And so the Anusara “kula,” or community of heart, is ever-growing and is such a wonderful gift to be a
part of.
It’s wonderful then that there are so many great things going on in Atlanta to learn about and grow in
this innovative and profound practice of yoga. Visit the Practice page to learn about it. You'll find
there my local schedule to see where to find me each week, as well as my special events, both
locally and regionally. We have a radically expanding community of Anusara and Anusara-Inspired™
yoga teachers who offer classes as far south as Stockbridge and as far north as Woodstock. We are so
lucky to have many nationally and internationally renowned Anusara yoga teachers come through
Atlanta – see them all here. Finally, the community in the Southeast has grown so much and so there
are many workshops and trainings close by. Check out these regional events.
You can also read more about me and about Anusara yoga, learn more about the Anusara yoga
therapy as well as Anusara Immersion, read some of my articles, see some photos and press,
as well as look into related and supportive links and reading. New to yoga? See this informative
page. Finally, I periodically send out e-mails with updates on Anusara community events. Send me a
note if you’d like to be on the list.
It’s with a full heart and with the humblest gratitude that I offer this website as a place to connect to
Anusara yoga and its community of Heart. I dedicate it to John Friend, who lights my fire and is a Light
in this world.
Thank you for reading this far! I hope to connect with you soon.
Bright Blessings,
Gina
