Anusara®Yoga Therapeutics:

The Universal Principles of Alignment of
Anusara yoga have a powerful and innovative
therapeutic application.

The Optimal Blueprint – The Optimal Blueprint is
the master design for the body’s potential for optimal alignment and health. It represents the ideal spatial pattern of
the body in any position. For every possible position that the energetic and physical bodies can assume, there is a
specific alignment where circulation of vital energy (prana), blood, and other internal fluids have an optimally healthy
flow. The Optimal Blueprint represents this ideal alignment of the body in any position. When the outer body is
aligned with the Optimal Blueprint, the body senses this. The connective tissue becomes stronger, more resilient, and
increases in flexibility while the internal circulation, including prana, increases. Simply moving the outer body toward
synchronization with the Optimal Blueprint improves the flow of all body energies. The Universal Principles of
Alignment bring the body into alignment with the Optimal Blueprint.

The Five Elements - The elements combine in specific ways to form our mind/body constitution. This life-wisdom,
which is the basis for the science of Ayurveda, is helpful in identifying both our strengths and our potentially negative
imbalances. Each of the five Universal Principle of Alignment corresponds with an element. In addition to creating
optimal vitality in the body, then, the Principles can also be skillfully practiced to balance and enhance the body/mind's
natural expression for greater freedom and optimal living.

Anusara yoga therapeutics radically transform injury and imbalance into healing and clarity. Anusara
yoga therapeutics are appropriate for those new to yoga and working with persistent physical issues and medical
conditions. The Alignment Principles can also bring joy and new possibility back into ongoing hatha yoga practice,
which is often troubled by injury due to repetition and unaddressed mis-alignment. Commonly problematic areas such
as the lower back, shoulders, neck and jaw, hips, and knees, as well as even more periphery areas such as elbow,
wrist and ankles can improve dramatically.

While the therapeutic benefits of Anusara yoga are realized in a public class setting, specific needs and deeper inquiry
are thoroughly addressed in a private session.
